The Patagonian Desert is located mostly in Argentina, but a small part of it is located in Chile. It is surrounded by the Andes mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Animals that live there include snakes, lizards, tarantulas, scorpions, camels, jack rabbits, hyenas, ostriches, ostriches, burrowing owls, Rhea, Tuco-Tuco, Mara, armadillos, Patagonian weasels, pumas, Patagonian grey foxes, desert iguanas, jumping spiders, and comadrejas. Plants there include Hierba Negra, Palo Amarillo, pepper trees, yucca plants, pin cushions, and cacti. The Patagonian Desert is a large cold desert. It is mostly sandy, but some parts are sandy. there are lots of dry shrubs in the Patagonian Desert. It is the largest desert in Argentina, and the 7th largest desert in the world, with 673,000 square kilometers of land. It has lots of buttes. It is a very narrow strip of length. Its altitude is 600-800 meters. The winter lasts seven months and the temperatures can drop below freezing. The summer last 5 months and temperatures can reach 100 degrees or more. Frost is common throughout the year. It only receives 4 to 8 inches of rain a year. Because of the low amount of rainfall and severe temperatures the Patagonian Desert has a very small population.
