The Arabian Desert stretches from Yemen to the Persian Gulf. It occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula, with an area of 222,070 square kilometers (137,987.901 square miles). Animals there include gazelles, Oryx, sand cat, lizard, and uromastyx. It is very dry, receiving only 35mm of rain per year. It is warm in the daytime and can frost in the winter. The large, red sand dunes can shift. There are also cliffs, plateaus, canyons, and quick sands. There are occasional oil spills. It is a hyper-arid region, and humidity changes according to the season. There is 50% humidity in winter and 15% in summer. Temperatures range from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius in the winter and 40 to 50 degrees Celsius in the summer.
